With our local equestrian centre we can arrange a horse riding to suit all ages and riding
abilities.
Pick up from our back door spend the day (or just an hour)
trekking the country lanes, beaches and byways on horses that
are strong and sure footed in the capable, experienced hands
of the equestrian centre staff.

Lead rein rides for children and a visit to their Connemara Pony
Farm where ponies of the very highest quality are bred are all part

Diving
Scuba Dive West
Scubadive
West: Located on the shores of Killary Fjord just 15 mins drive
from our hotel. This purpose built all weather dive centre is Ireland's
only all year round dive centre.

Their
dive boats each accommodate 12 divers to over seventy dive
sites suitable for divers from Open Water level to the most
advanced.
Facilities include dive shop, full rental including dry suits
and they provide air and Nitrox to 300 bar.

Scubadive
West has been operating from its current location for the past 12
years and has gained a first class reputation for clear visibility
Atlantic diving. Scubadive West is a full PADI
(Professional Association of Diving Instructors) school. Top

the Westport 18 Hole Championship course and the Connemara
Championship Links, approx 40 mins drive from each course.

area and attract fishing enthusiasts from all over the world.

minutes drive from our hotel are a number of lakes and rivers
renowned for the quality of brown trout and salmon.
Lough
Fee, Lough Muck, the Kylemore Lakes, the Dawros and Culfin
Rivers are but a few.

The local angling club, The Culfin Anglers, regularly meet at the
hotel to weigh in their catch at the end of a day's fishing. Their
members include two members of the Irish International team, their
enthusiasm for the sport over the years has ensured that the rivers
and lakes of the area are well stocked and maintained.
If
you prefer the open sea a sea angling trip from nearby Ballinakill
Harbour is a must. The crystal clear unpolluted waters of this hauntingly
beautiful harbour offers an abundance of fishing including pollack,
mackerel, ling, conger, ray and blue shark. Shore angling is also
popular along this coastline, and there are many superb locations
for beach and rock fishing. Top

trip to the west of Ireland is not complete without a visit
to Kylemore Abbey.
10
minutes drive from Maol Reidh Hotel, Kylemore Abbey is the
monastic home of the Irish Benedictine Nuns.
This fairytale castle was built in 1865 by English businessman
Mitchel Henry for his wife.

National Park.
10 minutes drive away Connemara National Park is one of Ireland's
five national parks and covers 2,000 hectares of mountain, bog,

nature trails, nature walks and talks and a series of activities
during the summer especially for younger visitors. |

Alive Marine Centre
2 miles from hotel Ocean's Alive is situated at Ballinakill Harbour.
Features include local maritime history, sealife exhibits, seaside
park and picnic areas, pets corner, children's playground.

Tours
Dotted along the Altantic coast are numerous islands, nearest to
us is Omey Island. Drive or walk into this island at low tide. Sandy
beaches, sand dunes, an ancient medieval church ruin and an abundance
of wildlife are the features of this tiny island.
A
little further on take the ferry from Cleggan to Inish Boffin. With
a present day population of 200 this unique island is a haven for
nature lovers, unspoilt by modern agricultural methods wild flowers,
birds and animals including a colony of grey seals thrive in this
natural habitat.
